About Me

Hi! Welcome to my blog, Summer Speaks - a space where you're guaranteed to find all of my thoughts, opinions, and reflections (and, believe me, there's a lot of them). Before we delve into my brain and all that it has to say, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Summer and this is a little bit about my life. 

I grew up in the suburbs outside of New Orleans. My four siblings and I were raised by our mother and Middle Eastern father so culture, language, and travel has always been of importance in my life. Likewise, as a Pisces, I thoroughly enjoy the arts in all its forms and variations so I dabbled in them a great bit throughout my childhood. Moreover, photography has always been a particular interest of mine and has latterly blossomed into a part-time business where I specialize in maternity and newborn photography. After graduating high school, I moved to Charleston for a few years and recently relocated to Atlanta. I'm currently a student, majoring in English education with plans of becoming a high school teacher. In the mean time, I make a living managing a restaurant and photographing pregnancies. My favorite job of all, however, is being a mama to my beautiful, intelligent, and sassy daughter. I can only strive to instill in her the same love and fascination of culture, language, and the arts so that, maybe, one day in the future she'll be writing an "about me" post on her own blog.
